A short lived perennial., blooms first year. These seedlings are from two seed mixes - Sahara and Cherokee Sunset. While the plants do not seem to last more than three seasons, they are a summer delight. Each plant is a surprise! And they bloom reliably in season one. A great cut flower and a good container plant. Deadhead

Rudbeckia’s are the larval host plant for Silvery Checkerspot (Chlosyne nycteis) and Bordered Patch (Chlosyne lacinia) butterfly caterpillars and adult butterflies are attracted to the plant. Seed-loving birds also are attracted to this plant.
