Movement & Safety Parameters:
•Set your judgment aside. Judgment usually requires punishment. It can disconnect us from ourselves as individuals, and others. Instead, we invite people to instead use curiosity and discernment to embrace the full emotional and physical human experience of yourself and others.
•Move as you wish - There is no right or wrong way to move in ecstatic dance. You can also choose to not move at all. Listen to your body, and let it do what it needs.
•No vices/devices- Leave your phones and other devices off and off the floor. You are taking the time to show up for yourself by attending, be as present as you possibly can be for yourself.
•Do not come intoxicated. Let the music intoxicate you instead. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted. This includes vaping and marijuana. This allows for a safe and consent based atmosphere.
•Non-conversational during dance - The only expression on the dance floor is physical. If you must talk to someone, take it out of earshot of the movement area. This allows the dancers to be fully into the music and their own movements. Singing and expressing feelings during music is welcome.
•Consent based - If you would like to dance with someone, make eye contact and give clear indication. If you do not want to dance with someone, or if you are ready to end dancing with partners, bow out by using Namaste hands.
•No Photos or videos during dance unless facilitator gains informed consent from the group.
• Please refrain from heavy perfumes or scents, as we will be in close proximity to one another and some people have severe allergies. The scent of Marijuana can especially be triggering.
Mushies & Brushies Retreat
Mushies & Brushies - combinig Plant Medicine and Art Therapy Day Retreat
Mushies and Brushies is a full-day retreat that combines plant medicine with art therapy. The process of putting your brain into a creative “flow” state can help with emotional processing, gaining perspective and enlightenment, discovering your purpose and working through old emotional and psychological blocks. It’s a gentle way to go deep within yourself, and access levels that the subconscious has swept away in the dark. At the very least, it is a fun day filled with good food, community, creativity and natural beauty.
The actual event will be preceded by an intention setting meeting, and we will integrate after the event to make sure you get the most out of the messages you receive during your session. The event will begin with a meditation and breathwork session to get you into the receptive state of mind while the moderate dose of psilocybin takes effect. You will be guided by a mental health professional in a group setting to make sure that you feel safe and protected as you use creativity to access parts of your subconscious that are difficult to access during normal life and brain states.
Set in the serene and awe-inspiring setting that is Detroit Abloom, the natural beauty will help transport you to another state of being. Detroit Abloom is a strictly vegetarian facility, so the food provided will be strictly plant-based. If you choose to bring your own food, please do not bring meat, eggs or fish.
Connect with like-minded individuals in a supportive and uplifting environment, and leave feeling empowered and motivated to achieve your goals.

Sound Bath with Heather Bossler
A Sound Bath is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NURTURE YOUR MIND AND BODY.
The experience begins with each person lying down or seated in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and an eye mask. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath, the remainder of the experience is filled with different sounds and frequencies being introduced in succession. The sounds are created by a variety of overtone-emitting instruments.
The sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness, an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you. The goal of the experience is to invite deep rest and relaxation, and explore self-inquiry and self-discovery.

Ecstatic Dance with Gar Den Boi
Ecstatic Dance with DJ Gar Den Boi
Discover an enchanting urban oasis at Detroit Abloom, where vibrant flowers dance in the golden glow of the setting sun. The serene beauty of Abloom's wellness garden creates the perfect space for an evening of peace, play, and dancing in community.
Wake Your Waters invites you to join us in a celebration of movement through a soulful Ecstatic Dance experience—a freeform dance meditation that encourages you to feel fully and express freely. Surrender to the rhythm of the music, allowing authentic movement guided by your body, emotions, and instincts. This practice connects you with yourself, fosters creative expression and intuition, and cultivates a deep sense of community and connection with the universe. It’s a chance to release, let go, and open yourself to new possibilities and fresh energy—aspiring to inspire and create momentum in your life.
To prepare for this somatic experience, a gentle beginner’s yoga class will be offered to help you stretch, open up, and set the tone for your deeply somatic experience. This portion is donation-based, so feel free to arrive early, enjoy the garden space, and gently ground yourself for a beautiful night of dancing.
As the sun begins to dip, we will gather for an opening circle and dance lab at 7:00 pm, where we’ll welcome each other, share the evening’s intentions, review general guidelines for the space, and set the stage for our collective journey. This is more than just a dance—it’s a shared experience of moving with life, creating a collective heartbeat with Mother Earth.
We are honored to have the incredible Gar Den Boi holding space in the garden, leading us through the Ecstatic Dance Sound Journey. Prepare to be transported on a soulful journey where the music guides your body and spirit toward profound connection and liberation. Scroll down to meet your DJ.
Please note that this is a sober, no-phone dance, empowering us to be fully present with ourselves and each other.
All you need to bring is yourself, along with anything that supports your comfort and flow—flow props, a yoga mat, blankets, snacks, water, and a water bottle (we will have water available).
Meet Your DJ:
Gar Den Boi
holding space in the garden
The Gar Den Boi sound is inspired by years of yoga and meditation while working in an electronic music landscape. A project steered by Tyler Manning, who fuses a love for all instruments & electronic music production to meld organic play with the healing power of low end frequencies. He uses DJ sets as a vehicle for introspective growth, and can often be found holding space in his “Instrument Garden” Studio workshops & installations.
Since 2015, Tyler has spent his career dedicated to empowering others to create music through his ventures such as The Instrument Garden, MorFlo Records, Boredomfighters, Forward Momentum, & Big Cloud. Having curated and DJ’d 250+ interactive events from festivals to club nights to retreats worldwide, he’s picked up a wide range of influences ranging through downtempo bass, neo-soul beats, latin grooves, and soulful house. The Gar Den Boi music project was officially launched in Detroit in May of 2023 with “The Sound of a Tree Growing: Root Tape” and has seen those roots spread wide since getting planted for the forthcoming “Fruit Tape” as well as an ambient bass meditation album in collaboration with The Sound Medicine Collective called Frequency Medicine.
He now resides in Detroit frequently playing music at yoga studios and festivals. He has been featured as the Official DJ for the reggae queen Sister Nancy and 4x for the Mendo Dope Boys.
His tours include a sold-out run in Spain, Michigan, and New York as part of The Organic Cup series in 2023, as well as a sold-out tour through Colorado's Front Range in early 2024.
