This is a great plant for partial shade and it grows like a tall ground cover and has been coined the “native hosta” plant! It will do well in partial to full shade and prefers not too wet and not too dry! conditions to dry. It grows by rhizomes but is not overly aggressive. It shoots up at a time when you can easily control it. The young shoots can be prepared like asparagus. We have it growing in our Rose Garden that is a partial shade situation, it grows along side Wood Poppy, Goatsbeard and hellebores.
The adorable white bells dangle under the leaf axils.They become blue berries (non edible, low poison rate) in the fall. The foliage turns
