Geum triflorum, Prairie Smoke, Quart pot
Geum triflorum, Prairie Smoke
FS-PS, Zone 3, Blooms Apr-June, 1’ x 1’, Med wet to dry, Deer resistant
This is a prairie and open-woodland perennial that has become harder to find! We have an order with Wild Type for plugs this spring (2023). Since it is one that poses difficulties in germinating, Wild Type cannot assure our purchase. We certainly hope to have them! We will refund any order we cannot deliver! Our cost is doubled for this plant, thus the pricing.
That said this is a terrific woodland garden plant. We love the changes from it’s unique blooms to dancing seed heads. As noted by the species name - Geum, it is part of the rose family. The foliage is a soft ferny delight. Plant it where it will not be competed by larger or aggressive plants.
